Synopsis
KING OF THE DEAD is a horror/action/comedy film about a group of night shift workers trapped in a museum with the spirit of an evil Egyptian sorcerer, who the staff archaeologist unleashes from a mummy. From this familiar setup, the story takes many unexpected twists and turns, becoming a darkly humorous exploration of life, death, sex and magic, with plenty of gore and mayhem along the way.
Production / Financing
We are seeking to raise $150,000 to complete the feature-length version of the film. This budget would allow us to produce something to the standards of the demo, working with a non-union cast and crew, shooting over three six-day weeks in Chicago. Of course, we’d be open to selling the screenplay or mounting a more elaborate production on a larger budget, if possible.
